The Level I exam’s CFA Program curriculum is centered on portfolio management, ethical and professional standards, and knowledge of and understanding of investment instruments and asset classes. The CFA 1 level exam consists of 180 questions in MCQ format with a 135-time duration. The interval between sessions is optional. To receive an exam result, candidates must attend both sessions.

Candidates must first possess a bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent), be in their final year of study (finish the degree before signing up for the level 2 exam), or have roughly 4,000 hours of professional work experience (or a combination of work experience and education totaling 4,000 hours). Additionally, the candidate must speak English fluently because the exam and the full program are in English. A candidate can only register for the level 1 exam if all necessary payments have been made.
